Abstract

Ameloblastomas (AM) are the most common benign odontogenic tumors with local invasion and high recurrence rates, which generally
occur in the jawbones. Although most cases occur between ages 20 and 40, AM can still occur in children at a much lower incidence.
Ameloblastomas typically exhibit an aggressive nature, with the potential to infiltrate the jawbone and present as a noticeable tumor.1
About 1% of oral tumors are found to be ameloblastoma.2 This paper presents a case report of a 40-year-old female diagnosed with a giant ameloblastoma of the left lower mandible who had multiple surgeries done for local recurrences over 15 years duration.
