Abstract

Objectives: The current study is to assess nitric oxide levels as well as a few other biochemical parameters in individuals with hepatic Cirrhosis disease.

Methods: The study included 55 age-matched controls and 57 individuals with cirrhosis disease that were both clinically and biochemically identified. Adenosine deaminase (ADA), albumin, aspartate tansaminase (AST), alanine transaminase (ALT), -glutamyl transpeptidase (GGT), and alkaline phosphatase were measured as part of the biochemical analyses (ALP).

Results: The study group's serum nitric oxide (NO) levels were substantially (p 0.001) greater than those of the control group's. Additionally, the results showed that the activities of the enzymes ADA, GGT, ALP, AST, and ALT were significantly higher in liver cirrhotic patients than in the control group.

Conclusions: Nitric oxide concentration elevation may serve as a potential diagnostic indicator for liver cirrhosis.
